How to add value to your property
Styling your home before selling or renting can add significant value to the sale, according to Wilson Property Agents.
Adrien Wilson, director of the agency, says that presenting a livable space will allow potential buyers to connect with the home, as many people find it difficult to visualize an empty space.
“In my experience, properties that have been styled by a professional stylist receive the highest level of online engagement and initial interest prior to inspection,” Mr Wilson said.
“This is due to a number of factors. The photographs are much more appealing than a cluttered apartment or house with old furnishing, it shows the potential buyer that it is essentially ready to move in and presents them with an aspirational living scenario.”
While a professional stylist is recommended for their expert knowledge on choosing the right look to suit your home and target demographic, a DIY fix can also make a noticeable difference.
Justine Wilson, Principal Stylist and Director of Vault Interiors, says there are a few simple steps to styling: a new coat of paint, getting rid of clutter, fresh flowers and colourful cushions, a tidy front lawn, and fixing up the floors.
