Infrastructure projects fast-tracked
Infrastructure projects are being fast-tracked in several areas to ensure significant growth, according to planning minister Matthew Guy.
Across Melbourne, under the Growth Area Infrastructure Contribution, $7 million is set to be injected to support community infrastructure.
The Hume will see a $2.4 million injection, where Casey, Melton and Wyndham will have $2.1 million, $1.5 million and $900,000 spent respectively.
"Infrastructure delivery is a critical component of the successful development of [these] growth [areas]," announced Mr Guy.
Under the funding initiatives such as community centres, railway extensions, road network upgrades and new development lots will be included.
Other transport facilities, such as buses and new parking, will also be included.
"Investing in infrastructure is vital to the social fabric of outer suburban communities and these two projects will support [these areas] as … [they] develop," he said.
