Minister for transport and infrastructure Tom Koutsantonis said The Big Build will allow South Australians to gain a better insight into the role of infrastructure projects driving economic activity, private investment and job creation.
This includes the Weatherill government’s $9.3 billion capital program that supports an annual average of more than 7,500 jobs.
“The Big Build is more than just an opportunity to showcase the projects unfolding beneath the cranes on our city skyline,” Mr Koutsantonis said.
“Many of [the jobs] are highly skilled engineering and construction jobs that are creating a workforce that can bid for future projects both here and interstate.”
Mr Koutsantonis said Adelaide is the most liveable city in Australia, and believes it will only get better.
“Quite frankly, we are at a point in Adelaide’s history that people will reflect on in years to come and say this is when we helped our city achieve its potential,” he said.
