Kate Fennessy purchased her first property, together with her brother, in Sydney’s inner west back in 2005.
Being in their early 20s, both she and her brother still very much wanted to enjoy their weekends, but no matter what, they always made sure they were up and on the property trail first thing Saturday morning.
“Every Saturday we’d be up, even if we’d been out until all hours on the Friday night,” she told me.
The reality is if you’re a determined first home buyer, your commitment to your property search has to be unwavering; the right property is not going to come along unless you’re out their looking for it.
Furthermore, hitting the pavement and inspecting properties is the best way to develop your understanding of the property market – and idea of what constitutes a good or bad deal. So get out there and start researching the market.
