The new estate will be called Park Vista and construction is expected to commence in March this year with the first homes to be completed by December.
Under the approved plans nearly 30 per cent (14.6 hectares) of the site for Park Vista will be developed as open space, including landscaped parks, revegetation of degraded areas, playground facilities and a network of walking and cycle tracks.
GEO Managing Director Guy Farrands said there would be a major focus on developing homes with views of the open spaces.
"A great view can add substantially to not only the long term value of a property but also the quality of life you can enjoy while you live in the home," he said.
Once completed Park Vista will have a total of 489 dwellings across 11 separate stages, including 44 in the first stage to be developed next year. Lot sizes will range from approximately 373 square metres to more than 700 square metres.
The estate will include a mix of attached and detached homes.
Buyers will have the opportunity to preview designs towards the end of 2011 when a dedicated display and sales home is completed.
