59% jump in sales: Harcourts NSW
Harcourts NSW posted a 59 per cent on-year surge in sales volumes for 2011 at the same time the company’s sales consultant numbers grew by one-third.
“These results are simply fantastic,” said Sadhana Smiles, chief executive officer of Harcourts NSW.

“There’s no denying that there is a degree of uncertainty in the property market, but regardless, we’ve managed to have one of our best years on record.”
Sales reached slightly in excess of $626 million for the year, up from just over $409 million in 2010, while the company's number of sales agents grew from 106 to 138.
Over the past 12 months, the average sale price also rose by six per cent, the total number of properties listed increased by over 29 per cent to 3,480, while the total number of properties sold jumped by more than 50 per cent to reach 1,495. Harcourts NSW has 65 offices.
“I believe that these figures are proof that there are buyers out there and that a good level of investor confidence has returned to the market,” Ms Smiles, who was appointed Harcourts NSW CEO in October, said.
“These results are also testament to the tenacity and dedication displayed by our sales and support teams throughout 2011. We have a team of highly-skilled, committed real estate professionals and these results reflect this,” Ms Smiles continued.
Harcourts NSW said in October that is was targeting growth in Sydney’s inner suburbs, with the Harcourts International managing director, Mike Green, aiming to grow the brand by 200 offices nationally.
