“Access and relationships, I think, are the two biggest keys in this business. I think if you’re in any service-orientated business, it’s those relationships that not only you have to work hard at, but you have to value and appreciate.”
Explaining his personal experience, Mr Cohen said investors do not need to have a large team, but it needs to be a strong one.
“For us, we’ve got not a million relationships, but a lot of very strong ones and very tight ones, and for us that gives us a huge competitive edge, and for our clients it gives them a huge competitive edge,” Mr Cohen said.
Whilst highlighting the benefits of a strong team around a property investor, Mr Cohen said it can really help an investor start off on the right foot.
“If it’s a mortgage broker you’re dealing with and you can help speed up, not only speed up the process for their client buying, but you can also get their client into something they couldn’t find on their own at a price of less than what they would’ve paid for themselves,” Mr Cohen said.
“It becomes a team effort where everyone wins, and for me in business, I think an outcome where everyone wins is a phenomenal outcome.”
