REA launches new landlord toolkit
REA Group has announced a new experience for self-managed landlords set to make it easier to connect with agents or list their rental property.
Set to go live later this month, the group announced it is making the changes in response to increased demand, with over one in three investors now self-managing their real estate portfolio.
“With such a large percentage of Australia’s 2 million landlords now self-managing their properties, providing them with the option to create a rental listing will help provide our consumers with access to the most comprehensive view of Australian rental properties,” REA Group chief consumer product officer, Val Brown said.
Property management customers also stand to benefit with research highlighting that 24 per cent of self-managed landlords are considering switching to a property manager in the next 12 months.
“With more people renting than ever before, we are focused on seamlessly connecting [property managers], tenants and landlords through the REA rental experience,” Mr Brown said.
As part of the new site, landlords who choose to find out more about property management services will be directed to an improved agency search experience, which now gives landlords the ability to view the number of properties an agent has available to rent.
“This provides a compelling opportunity for real estate agencies to gain access to an otherwise previously untapped segment. To help our customers unlock this potential, we will be profiling the benefits of professional property management to self-managed landlords on the site. All while continuing to provide our agency customers with access to efficient digital property management tools and a range of powerful products to help drive new enquiry,” Mr Brown explained.
