Nambour’s next: Agent sees growth for hinterland town

A Sunshine Coast agent is predicting Nambour will be the next big Sunshine Coast market to boom.

Tristan Brown cites the recent sale of a Nambour property that cracked the $1 million price point as proof the hinterland town is on an upswing.

Just 15 minutes from the closest beach, Mr Brown has always felt that the area was somewhat overlooked in comparison to similar locations on the Sunshine Coast.

This recent sale of 9 Pearl Parade for just short of $1.2 million is a boon for his RE/MAX outpost – and a testament to the belief he’s long held that Nambour deserved more interest.

“It was a landmark achievement for Nambour and signifies this town’s resurgence on the Sunshine Coast,” Mr Brown said of the sale.

The home captured the attention of Sunshine Coast locals and capital city dwellers looking for a sea-change, along with expressions of interest from New Zealand, he shared.

He’s seen interest in Nambour from young professional couples and families growing over the past two years, and believes the market has now entered a new phase.

“Looking at the spread of the potential buyers for this and other properties, the prices they are willing to pay and the value they are seeing, suggest $1 million-plus is going to be the new normal,” Mr Brown predicted.

He called attention to upgrades in the area, like the $86 million renovation of the hospital, as well as local efforts from the Reimagine Nambour association, as signs the area will continue to build on its attractive offerings, making now a good time for investors to strike.

“If you are in the Nambour market for an entry-level three-bedroom home, try to expand your budget up to $600,000,” Mr Brown recommended, noting there’s also good value in the $700,000 to $800,000 bracket.

And even with renewed interest, Mr Brown feels the area still holds much to be discovered.

“There are pockets of Nambour that nobody hears about because they are not getting the exposure they should and that really needs to change.”

“This town and its surrounds have tremendous opportunities for property owners, investors, and residents,” Mr Brown said, “and on the back of the current real estate market explosion across south-east Queensland, we are seeing more and more buyers appreciate the value that lies within the tight-knit community of Nambour.”
