CBA voted best online bank
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has been named as Australia’s best online bank by Canstar Cannex.
According to Canstar Cannex, CBA took home the inaugural award because its website is ‘consumer friendly’.
The Commonwealth Bank has invested a lot of time and money over the past few years to develop a consumer-friendly website, both for the general public and existing customers,” Canstar Cannex head of research Steve Mickenbecker said.
“We were particularly impressed with the efforts Commonwealth Bank has gone to in providing a streamlined online banking experience for customers. The level of information available, the ability to manage a wide variety of banking needs, and the ability to apply for new products directly from the secure online banking login were all outstanding.”
But while CBA was crowned the overall winner, Mr Mickenbecker said all banks were stepping up to the challenge of providing a better overall online experience for customers.
“As internet technology has been racing ahead, online banking has moved towards newer levels of functionality and ease of use,” he said.
“Many of these changes are based on a shift to the ‘secure side’ of the website that allows far more to be done when logged in, creating a personal online experience.
“The best banking websites allow people to manage a full range of their banking needs from their own secure online portal. They do this by providing a streamlined, intuitive platform with access to a wide range of information and functionality.”
