Consumer Access to Mortgages survey now open
Smart Property Investment is inviting its readers to complete a survey that delves into their experience with using a mortgage broker.
Independent research firm Momentum Intelligence is conducting a survey to examine the attitudes, perceptions, and priorities consumers have when securing a home loan through a mortgage broker.
The results will be gathered in the annual Consumer Access to Mortgages white paper, which will then be used to inform policymakers, regulators, and Australian consumers on the quality of service provided by mortgage brokers and lenders.
The Consumer Access to Mortgages Report was launched in 2019, in response to the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry, to examine individual experiences and gauge the implications of any changes to broker remuneration on borrowers.
In previous years, the report has focused on broadening the industry’s understanding of how consumers perceive their interaction with a mortgage broker, and proprietary channel lenders, across a range of metrics, including turnaround times, communication, and open banking.
Now in its fourth year, the aim of the report is to better acquaint industry stakeholders with the behaviours, expectations, and experiences that drive a consumer’s decision-making when accessing housing finance.
The short survey is anonymous and open to all consumers, including those who have never secured a mortgage.
