1 in 10 Aussies values property above all else
Holding property has polled well below family in a new survey that has revealed where the priorities of Australians lie.
Compare the Market surveyed more than 1,000 Australians to find out what they prioritise and value in life the most.
Just 13 per cent of Australians said holding their property was the most valued part of their life.
In comparison, more than half (52 per cent) of those surveyed indicated their family as the most important aspect of their life.
A further 18 per cent of people indicated their own life was their most treasured possession, while 5 per cent of people considered being able to go on holidays as their highest valued priority.
On a demographic-specific level, property was most highly valued by 25- to 34-year-olds, with more than a fifth (21 per cent) highlighting it as having the highest priority.
The survey considered nine categories for people to answer the question of what they value most in their life.
The categories included: my family (52 per cent), my life (18 per cent), my property (13 per cent), going on holidays (5 per cent), my pets (3 per cent), my car (3 per cent), having a social life and entertainment (2 per cent), my job (2 per cent), and other (2 per cent).
