‘Schitt’s Creek’ mansion hits the market at a ‘discounted’ rate

But despite its short TV debut, the 12-bedroom, 16-bathroom, 14-car spot, “single family home” has been on the market for three years now, with the owner slashing the price in a desperate attempt to offload his former home. 

According to the listing agent, Zillow, the three-storey Toronto property, known as La Belle Maison, draws inspiration from 17th century French architecture, with chandeliers and frescos featured throughout the property. 

In addition, the property features a large kitchen, a formal living and dining room, a banquet hall, as well as a home theatre, a games room, a fitness room, wine cellar, indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and outdoor seating area.

Among its most prominent features is the property’s main entrance on a sprawling 2,230-square-metre block, which features a grand marble staircase and frescos inspired by the Sistine Chapel.

The Toronto mansion that was used as that set, located on Fifeshire Road in the ritzy St Andrews-Windfields neighbourhood, is currently looking for a buyer willing to cash out C$14,980,000.

But despite its opulence, the property has failed to attract a buyer in recent years, with the French chateau-style mansion, which was first built in 2012, seeing a sharp reduction from its 2018 listing price of C$21 million.
