‘Solving problems for people’: Property managers in the spotlight
When it comes to property management, the numbers are no doubt important – but so too are relationships.
On this episode, host Phil Tarrant speaks with Melissa Burtt, principal of LJ Hooker Devonport and an experienced property manager, about balancing the responsibilities of managing people’s investments, which include fiduciary duties as well as building and nurturing relationships.
Melissa shares her take on tailoring the property management approach to the other people who make up the equation, and strategies she has implemented to streamline the business such as utilising tech tools that take some of the stress out of operations.
The duo also delve into the Tasmanian market, in which Melissa is an expert, examining the particular market cycle at play in Australia’s southernmost state, and unpack why a long-term strategy might be best suited to investors in the region.
